Inwi top-up: where to buy and how to recharge
Inwi is one of Morocco's three mobile networks. A prepaid line there is fed by top-ups, bought locally or online. Here are the routes available and what to check each time.

Where to buy an Inwi top-up in Morocco
Buying an Inwi recharge is possible anywhere the operator has an authorised point of sale, and there are many. In the cities, newspaper kiosks, corner shops, tobacconists and petrol stations display the logos of the operators they serve. The operator's own shops sell top-ups too, and that is the right place to go if you also have a question about your line.
An Inwi top-up in Morocco is usually paid in cash at these outlets. The seller either hands you a voucher printed with a code, or credits the line straight from a terminal after asking for your number. In that second case, read the number back out loud before paying: one wrong digit sends the credit to somebody else's line.

Topping up Inwi online
Topping up Inwi online goes through the operator's official channels: its mobile app and the inwi.ma website. Payment is by bank card and the credit lands on the line with no code to enter. It is the most direct route when you already have a connection, over Wi-Fi or on another line.
An online top-up therefore assumes you are connected at the moment you make it. If your line is at zero and no Wi-Fi is within reach, the voucher from the shop around the corner beats hunting for an open network.
- Go through the operator's own app or website, not an unknown reseller.
- Only enter card details on a page belonging to the operator or to your bank.
- Keep the payment confirmation until the credit shows up on the line.
Inwi mobile top-up: activating the code from the phone
When an Inwi mobile top-up comes as a voucher, the code is printed on it, usually under a scratch strip. The exact activation procedure, the number to dial or the step to follow in the app, is written on the voucher itself and on the operator's site. It is short, and it needs no internet connection.
An Inwi phone credit top-up is activated from the line it belongs to. If you are topping up for someone else, their handset enters the code, not yours. Scratch the strip gently: an unreadable code is a lost voucher, and the shop will not take it back.
Inwi internet top-up: data rather than call credit
An Inwi internet top-up does not behave quite like topping up call credit. On a prepaid line, credit covers calls and messages first; mobile data generally runs through an option or a pass activated separately, with its own allowance and its own validity period.
In practice, adding credit does not always bring data back on its own: you then have to activate the option that spends that credit. The available options, their allowances and their duration are published by the operator, on its site and in its app, and they change regularly.
- Check whether your data option is still valid before adding credit.
- An exhausted data allowance does not always renew by itself.
- Outside the cities, credit is no substitute for a mast.

What to check on every top-up
- The line number, digit by digit, before the seller confirms.
- The amount actually credited, as stated in the confirmation message.
- The validity of the credit and of the data option, which often differ.
- The identity of the site when paying online: the operator or your bank, nobody else.

Where can I buy an Inwi top-up when the shops are shut?
Petrol stations open at night often sell top-up vouchers. Otherwise, topping up Inwi online through the operator's app or website works at any hour, provided you have a Wi-Fi connection.
Does an Inwi top-up bought in Morocco work from abroad?
The credit sits on the line, not on the country you happen to be in. Roaming terms differ from local use, though, and are worth checking with the operator before you travel.
How long does the credit stay valid?
Validity depends on the plan and on the amount topped up. It is stated at the time of purchase and repeated in the confirmation message. Ask about it first for a small top-up.
The code on my Inwi voucher is unreadable, what now?
A voucher whose strip has been scratched too hard is generally not replaced by the shop. It becomes a matter for the operator's customer service, with the voucher in hand, and it takes time.
Can I top up somebody else's Inwi line?
Yes, by giving the seller their number or entering it in the app. The credit goes to that line and cannot be recovered if the number is wrong, which is why reading it back matters.
